Lest we Forget……
The silhouettes and WI poppies are now up we prepare to respect those that have fallen.
On Saturday the 11th at 11am Cllr McFarling will lower the flag on the tump to half-mast for two minutes silence and reflection. He will then raise it leaving it up on Remembrance Sunday, bringing it down at dusk. It’s not an official flag lowering event, though others do sometimes join him to congregate around the flag to respectfully mark the actual time and day of the armistice signing.
Our Remembrance service will take place on Sunday the 12th of November at the Memorial gates, as advertised around the parish and we invite you to join together.
