Remembrance Sunday

We are planning to hold an open air act of remembrance at the war memorial gates as we have done over the past few years. Please join us just before 11am on Sunday 9th November. Refreshments will be served afterwards in the Pavilion.

Odd Jobs

The Parish council has a number of maintenance tasks which we are looking for someone to carry out. Our first choice would be to employ an odd job person – this would be a flexible position, working around eight hours a month with a salary of £6.50 per hour. However we would also consider contracting out the individual projects which need doing. These include repairs to a wall in the cemetery, and painting railings in the cemetery. So if anyone is interested either in a regular job, or just to carry out individual tasks – please get in touch.

Dog Fouling

The District Council are planning to implement a blanket dog fouling ban on public access areas throughout the District. This will include roads, pavements, verges and any open areas such as the Tump and the Playing Fields. There will be on the spot fines of £80 for anyone who does not clean up after their dog. The Parish council are requesting a number of signs to put up around the village warning dog owners of the new law.

Emergency Planning – Volunteers Wanted

The Parish Council have agreed to produce a community emergency plan – this is being done with guidance from the County and District Councils to ensure that we have procedures in place to act fast should there be an emergency in our area. We are looking for a couple of people to be members of the Emergency Response Team – volunteers should live in the parish, and should be available in the parish most of the time – so the role might suit someone self employed, or retired. Anyone who is interested in joining or who would like more information should contact the Parish Clerk.
