August Report

Highways Issues

We have a regular spot at our monthly meetings where we discuss highway problems which need to be reported to the County Council, and track progress on issues previously reported. Two of our councillors met this week with representatives from County Highways and looked at a number of ongoing issues. In particular we hope they will now address the problem of water running in Pystol Lane and blocked drains in the area.

Summer Newsletter

The Parish Council’s summer newsletter will be distributed with the Village News magazine over the next couple of weeks, and is also available here on line.

Completion of Audit

The Parish Councils annual return has been returned by the auditors with no comments – which means a clean bill of health. Anyone wishing to see a copy of the annual return should contact the Clerk.

Quality Council Status

At the beginning of our August meeting, the quality certificate was presented by Kim Bedford, County Secretary of the Gloucestershire Association of Parish and Town Councils. Kim congratulated the Parish Council on their achievement, and Chairman Adrian Cooper explained that the Council has set up a committee to monitor compliance with the standards for Quality Status, which are about to change, so that we can continue working at the highest standard, and will have no problem re-qualifying in four years time.
